STEAM Summer Programs
Registrations for STEAM Summer Camp 2025 are now open!
Black River Innovation Campus is offering ten (10) weeks of FREE summer camps centered around STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Mathematics!)
Our offerings are for rising 1st-12th graders, and are first come, first served.
Each camp will list its grade level requirement.
Camps for grades 1-5 will generally run 9am-12pm Monday - Friday.
Camps for grades 6-12 will generally run 9am-1pm Monday - Friday.
Students are encouraged to bring a bagged lunch.
Snacks and water will be available for those who need them.
Rosters for camps will be released once most camps are full.
Registering for a camp does not guarantee a spot.
If a camp is full, your name will be added to a wait list.

Our Summer Camp Offerings (2025)
July 7-11: Robotics and Drone Development at RVTC
Grades: rising 6-12
The River Valley RADs are a nationally recognized robotics and aerial drone club, based out of the River Valley Technical Center. This camp will introduce participants to five different robot and aerial drone platforms that the RADs participate in. Designing, building, coding and operating multiple types of robots (Lego League, VEX, SeaPerch) and drones (CoDrone, DGI) will be focus of this challenging, hands-on camp experience. Future membership in the RADs competitive club may come as a result of this camp experience.
July 7-11: The Young Springfield Players!
Grades: rising 1-3
This day camp for rising 1st-3rd graders focuses on learning the joys of the stage! Explore elements of acting and stagecraft that make theater an awesome experience for anyone! Through engaging activities and performances, students will build confidence, teamwork skills, and a love for the arts!
July 14-18: Virtual Reality Create!

Want to dive into VR? Now’s your chance! Use CoSpaces to Explore the fundamentals of Virtual Reality inside our Meta Quest 3 VR headsets! Learn to create your own 3D Virtual space and go exploring!
July 14-18: The Young Actors Studio!
Grades: rising 4-6
This exciting day camp for 4-6 focuses on learning the basics of acting, auditioning, and stagecraft! Campers will learn the basics of acting, how to confidently take an audition, and the essential elements of stage production. The program culminates in the creation and performance of a short one-act play, allowing students to showcase their newfound skills. Join us for a summer of creativity, learning, and fun!
July 14-18: Drone Soccer!
Grades: rising 6-12
Imagine playing quidditch... but with drones! This 5-day camp is perfect for campers who want to have a blast while learning to build, modify, and fly drones in a fast-paced drone soccer match! You'll team up with new friends to navigate exciting matches while developing teamwork and collaboration skills, as well as learning about drones, their parts, and how to fly them!
July 21-25: Lets make a Video Game!

Want to make your own video game? Come explore the basics of game building, and create some awesome content within EndStar and Godot - two amazing game creation engines!
July 28-Aug 1: Aeronautical Engineering!
Grades: rising 6-12
Ever wonder how things fly? Let’s find out and build some of our own flying objects… Join us for plenty of fun and learning! We’ll make - and maybe break 😂- a variety of flying objects, from paper airplanes to bottle rockets.
July 28-Aug 1: Maker Magic: Crafts, Code & Circuits!

Get ready for an epic 5-day adventure where you'll create your own art and games using circuits, crafts and code. Dive into the world of Micro:bit & Makey Makey circuit boards and Scratch coding! This camp is all about creating cool projects, making new friends, and discovering the magic of creative technology. Bring a friend and have a blast creating, designing and coding your way to fun and excitement!
July28-Aug 1: Tech Sprouts: Code and Create!

Dive into the exciting world of robots! This camp is all about building and coding your own robots, playing awesome games, and making new friends along the way. You'll have a blast exploring, creating, and discovering the magic of technology!
Aug 4-8: Fun With Lasers!
Grades: rising 6-12
Who doesn’t want to learn how to use a laser! Design and build custom projects made with a state of the art CO2 laser cutter. We’ll make a number of different projects that you’ll be able to bring home and keep.
